sayloom.Start on Mac
Mac editions: Sayloom Direct is the website build with systemwide typing. Sayloom App Store is the sandboxed Record, Copy and Share edition. In the App Store edition, record in Sayloom, click Copy, then switch apps and press Command + V. Command + Shift + R works while Sayloom is active; Accessibility is not used. The Direct setup steps below apply to the website build.
Use an Intel or Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 14.4 or later. Move the complete Sayloom.app to Applications, then follow Welcome. Approve Microphone and, for typing, Accessibility. The current developer preview still needs final public distribution signing and notarization.
Click your writing field first. Hold Control and Shift, press S, then release the keys. Speak while the top strip is visible. Press Control + Shift + S again to finish. The menu-bar waveform is an alternative.
If text does not appear
Open Guide or Setup & permissions and check Accessibility, microphone access and speech readiness. Enable automatic insertion in Settings. Try a regular editable field; secure or unsupported fields may block insertion. Your result stays available in History for copying.
Start with English and Dictation. Automatic multilingual uses a different speech model. Changing an Ollama writing model does not change speech recognition.
iPhone and iPad
Choose your recording language on the first Welcome screen, then approve Microphone and Speech Recognition. A supported on-device speech language must be available. Record in Sayloom, then Copy or Share into your writing app. App menus are currently in English; the recording-language choice does not translate the interface.
Start Dictation in Apple Shortcuts opens Sayloom. Assign it to the Action Button or Back Tap on supported devices. iOS does not provide the Mac’s global typing shortcut.
In 0.11.0 test builds, the Sayloom transcript keyboard can insert your latest completed result. First enable Share latest text with Sayloom keyboard in the app. Add Sayloom in iOS Settings / General / Keyboard / Keyboards, then enable Allow Full Access for the local shared container. Choose a field in your writing app, hold the globe key, select Sayloom, review the preview and tap Insert transcript. Secure fields and apps that reject custom keyboards use the system keyboard. This keyboard cannot record; use the main app or Apple Shortcuts to capture.
Android
Requires Android 12 or later and a compatible on-device speech service with downloaded language assets. Approve Microphone in Welcome. Choose your recording language on the first Welcome screen. App menus are currently in English; speech-language choice does not translate the interface.
For typing, enable and select the Sayloom voice keyboard in system input settings. Tap the orb, wait for Listening, speak, then Finish & insert in a compatible text field. Cancel stops unfinished work. If the cursor changes or the host rejects insertion, use Copy and paste manually. Launcher shortcuts and the Quick Settings tile open the main recorder. AI writing modes run in the main app; the keyboard provides Dictation.
Models and formatting
Basic Dictation needs no Ollama installation, text model or API key. For local Mac AI writing, install Ollama from ollama.com, download a compatible text model, then choose it in Sayloom → Models. The 1B option uses less storage and is a useful starting point for short drafts; compare its facts and wording with 3B.
Email and Rewrite on mobile require your own HTTPS text provider, model and API key. Provider charges are separate. Review AI output before using it. Guide explains the full workflow inside each app.
Lifetime Pro and restore
The offline preview includes ten successful new uses. Cancelling or empty speech does not consume a use. Saved work remains accessible after the trial. Lifetime Pro is a one-time non-consumable upgrade; the proposed US price is $4.99 and your store supplies the actual local price.
Open Lifetime Pro on Mac or Upgrade on mobile. Restore purchases with the same store account. Apple and Google purchases are separate. Store product setup and final purchase testing are still pending; a preview price is not proof that checkout is available.
